Why a journal
Let’s be honest, keeping a journal isn’t the easiest thing for most of us. Wether its time, not knowing what to write, or just in general lack of interest. However, journals are important to not only ourselves but our future and the next generations. Some of you are probably thinking, what if I don’t have kids or a ‘future’ generation. Whatever reason that is, your stories can be important to the future even if they don’t come from you. A good example of this is a journal by a midwife called “A Midwife’s Tale: The Life of Martha Ballard”. Beyond the obvious medical entries this journal has been reviewed and a lot of historical events, some seemingly little, can be found. While we wont all have a life such a Martha Ballard, it doesn’t mean its less important. One day, your journal or an entry might be a key to something or to someone. Life is ever changing, history is lost when it is not written by several individuals. It doesn’t matter who you are, age, or where you’re from or going.
With that, it is still understandable it is not easy. Here are the journal activities I will put up a few options for a journal entry each post. Take some time once a month to do a quick entry, either from the prompts or if you feel something else is more important.
Enjoy your writing!
